FOR WE WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT

We awake every morning and choose what we will eat, wear, and do for the day. Sometimes, what we want to eat, wear or do can be a hard decision to make, especially if are limited or don’t have a lot to select from. On the other hand, life can be full of very difficult choices, such as, who shall I marry, should I get a divorce, what church shall I become a member of, and so forth. As important as these other things are, however, Moses made a profound statement concerning choices. “…I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Now choose life, so that you and your children will live…” (Deut. 30:19, NKJV). Ultimately, we choose our own destiny. We choose how we live the life that is given to us. God is good. He came that we might life and have it abundantly (John 10:10) or a life that is overflowing with His goodness. He has made us in His imagine and in His likeness (Gen. 1:26). So we are created as free moral agents to choose. Russell (1978) said, “We are the authors of our lives in the sense that we create our destiny, our life situation, and our problems.” Moses indicated that there are “Blessings” and “Cursings” in the earth and we are the ones who decide under which umbrella to live. In fact, the best choice that you can make in this life is to choose Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior (Rom.10: 9,10). Once you make Jesus Lord of your life (whether saved or unsaved) then you can truly live and receive the “blessings” and “life” that is in him (Eph. 1:3; John 3:16). Therefore, We have freedom to choose and with freedom come responsibility for those choices, and those choices will create or take us to our destiny. So choose wisely.
